3-star IOL Ethan Fields commits to Ole Miss
Geismar (La.) Dutchtown three-star interior offensive lineman Ethan Fields committed to Ole Miss on Friday night. He chose the Rebels after backing off his pledge to Purdue an hour earlier.
Fields is the No. 1,181 overall prospect and No. 110 interior offensive lineman in the 2023 cycle, according to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He is also the No. 45 player in Louisiana.
On3 rates Fields higher than other recruiting services, according to the Industry Comparison. Even though he is not ranked in the 2023 On300, Fields is the No. 62 interior offensive lineman and No. 37 player in Louisiana.
“First of all I want to thank GOD for his many blessings,” Fields wrote in a statement published to social media. “The past two years of recruitment have been a long journey, but one that taught me a lot and helped me mature. Thanks to my parents, brother, and family for being with me every step of the way.
“After a great official visit at Ole Miss this week, I have decided to commit and will be signing on Wednesday. I am super excited about all of the opportunities that exist there. I want to thank Coach Kiffin, Coach Garrison, Coach Biagi, and the entire staff for hosting us this week! Hotty Totty!”

Following Fields’ decision, Ole Miss’ 2023 recruiting class contains 13 commitments. The Rebels’ group is currently No. 21 in the 2023 On3 Consensus Team Recruiting Rankings and No. 9 in the SEC.
Raleigh (Miss.) four-star linebacker Suntarine Perkins, the No. 58 overall prospect in the On3 Consensus, is currently Ole Miss’ highest-ranked recruit. Head coach Lane Kiffin and his staff have pledges from two interior offensive linemen in Fields and Chattanooga (Tenn.) Baylor School four-star Brycen Sanders.
A 6-foot-2, 323-pound prospect, Fields has an On3 NIL Valuation of $5.2K. The On3 NIL Valuation is an index that looks to set the standard market value for both high school and college-level athletes. The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time.
