Grambling transfer LB Andrew Jones flips commitment to Ole Miss from South Carolina
Grambling transfer linebacker Andrew Jones has flipped his commitment to Ole Miss, according to On3’s Hayes Fawcett. He was previously committed to South Carolina.
Jones was an FCS All-American in 2024 and co-Defensive Player of the Year in the SWAC. He has one year of eligibility remaining.
Jones earned second-team FCS All-American honors this season after racking up 122 tackles, 20.5 tackles for loss and 3 sacks. His 122 tackles were 73 more than anyone else on the Grambling State team.
Jones had a breakout season for Grambling State in 2024 after appearing in only two games last year. He came to play for the Tigers after starting his college career with the Memphis Tigers.
Jones signed with Memphis as a three-star recruit in the class of 2021, per the On3 Industry Rankings. He redshirted his first season on campus before appearing in 10 games in 2022. He finished that year with four tackles, one tackle for loss and a forced fumble.
Ole Miss added a former LSU defensive back transfer
LSU transfer safety Sage Ryan committed to the Rebels on Friday night, according to On3’s Hayes Fawcett. The tallied 111 total tackles and 12 passes defended during his time with the Tigers. He’ll have one year of eligibility remaining.
Ryan is a redshirt junior who has been a multi-year contributor for the Tigers, playing in a ton of games and at multiple positions. He was coveted for that versatility. He is coming off his most productive season yet. In 2024, Ryan tallied 42 tackles, 2.0 tackles for a loss, a sack, three forced fumbles, an interception and six passes defended.

In total, he has played in 43 career games with 21 starts. He thanked the LSU staff on his way out for the opportunity provided.

The Ole Miss Rebels will face off against the Duke Blue Devils on Thursday, January 2nd. They’ll square off in the TaxSlayer Gator Bowl and that one will be nationally televised on ESPN.
