Ole Miss pitcher Grayson Saunier has entered the NCAA transfer portal, On3 has learned. He appeared in 10 games this year and had a 4-3 record as a sophomore.

All told, Saunier appeared in 23 games during his time in Oxford, amassing a 6-7 record with a 5.64 ERA during that time. He started all but one of those appearances, making his lone trip out of the bullpen this past season.

One of Saunier’s best performances at Ole Miss came in March against Iowa. He threw five innings that day, allowing two hits and two walks while recording two strikeouts as he got his second win of the season.

Ole Miss is coming off a 27-29 record in 2024, including an 11-19 mark in SEC play to sneak into the conference tournament field. The Rebels saw their season come to an early end, though, with a 2-1 loss to Mississippi State in the opener in Hoover.

After the season ended, there was speculation about Mike Bianco’s future with the program. Ole Miss won the College World Series in 2022, but missed out on the NCAA Tournament each of the last two seasons. However, the Rebels ultimately opted to bring him back in 2025.

Bianco’s contract buyout details are murky due to how Ole Miss puts together its contracts. All coaches have a public contract that is available to view online, while also earning a portion of his salary from the private Ole Miss Athletic Foundation. Bianco’s contract is currently slated to end in June 2026, and he will earn an annual base salary of $1.625 million.

In 24 seasons, Bianco has led Ole Miss to 18 postseason appearances, including eight Super Regional berths and a pair of trips to the College World Series – including that 2022 national championship. But as speculation started about his future, Bianco said while that decision was out of his hands, he planned on returning to the dugout next year.

“You’ll have to ask my boss,” Bianco said after the SEC Tournament loss. “But I expect to be back.”

The college baseball transfer portal opened for a 30-day window starting June 3 after the Regional round of the NCAA Tournament. The window will officially close July 2. So far, Ole Miss has seen eight players enter the portal during the 2024 cycle after Grayson Saunier’s decision, according to D1Baseball.
