At the end of the regular season, Ole Miss quarterback Jaxson Dart admitted that he played through injuries in 2023. However, he also downplayed the significance of those injuries.

Dart explained that he wasn’t going to take himself out of games over small injuries because of how much he loves the game.

“I just love the game,” Jaxson Dart said. “I told J-Wat [Jordan Watkins] because he was asking, ‘Bro, are you good?’ I was like, ‘You know there’s nothing that could happen to me that’s gonna keep me off the field.'”

Dart explained that he wasn’t surprised that he got banged up here and there throughout the season. However, he was thankful for the staff at Ole Miss getting him ready to go.

“Going through a whole season in the SEC, you’re due to get a little bumps and bruises and whatnot,” Dart said. “So, luckily, we have great doctors who can help take care of us and a really good training staff that helps us get our rehab throughout the week so we can be able to play.”

Dart was then asked if there were ever any concerns that he had suffered a head injury. He insisted that his head was never the issue and most issues he had were more like stingers than anything else.

It was a phenomenal season statistically for Dart. He threw for 2,985 yards, 20 touchdowns, and five interceptions, while rushing for 375 yards and seven rushing touchdowns.

Jaxson Dart has one more game to finish up the 2023 season, the Peach Bowl against Penn State. Luckily, in this case, he will have more than a month to recover ahead of the game.

Jaxson Dart gives his personal emotions of playing in Peach Bowl

Ahead of the Peach Bowl, Jaxson Dart shared his emotions about playing in the game.

“Yeah, you know, I’ve always wanted to play in a game like this. I’ve always wanted to play in a really big bowl game. And it’s just the fruits of your labor of everything that you put in,” Dart said.

“You want to end things off the right way. And you know for the guys that are coming back it carries a lot of momentum for him. It’s just a great opportunity for us as a team to see how far that we’ve come and to really finish this thing off the way that we want to and the way that we’ve worked this whole offseason in season four.”
