Jaxson Dart says he must build on consistency
A transfer from USC to Ole Miss, Jaxson Dart earned the starting job and didn’t look back. It wasn’t a perfect season, though, and he knows that there are places he needs to improve if Ole Miss wants to take the next step forward in 2023.
In particular, Dart wants to become more consistent in his play moving forward.
“I feel like I’ve had flashes of it [his potential] during the year,” Dart explained.
“Just need to build on my consistency and grow in that aspect.”
A former four-star recruit in the Class of 2021, Dart still has two seasons of eligibility remaining. This season, he threw for 2,974 yards and 20 touchdowns to 11 interceptions. He ran for an additional 614 yards and a score on the ground too.
Dart is set to return to Ole Miss in 2023. He will do so as the presumed starter, as his backup quarterback Luke Altmyer has now transferred to Illinois.
Jaxson Dart is frustrated with how the season ended
After getting off to a 7-0 start, Ole Miss dropped five of its last six games, including the Texas Bowl, to fall to just 8-5 on the season. For Dart and the Rebels, it was an incredibly frustrating way to end the season.

Michigan prepared to offer No. 1 recruit $10.5M over 4 years
“It’s really frustrating. I think, for me, you put a lot of work in to prepare for games like this each and every week. And then when you make costly mistakes? And you don’t play at the standard you can play at to help your team win a game? That’s really frustrating,” Dart said.
“I’m just gonna take it and fuel my fire and be better next year. I know my potential, I know what I can do. So I’m just going to take my next step in my growth and get ready for whatever’s next.”
