4-star DL Jeffery Rush commits to Ole Miss
Pascagoula (Miss.) four-star defensive lineman Jeffery Rush has announced his commitment to Ole Miss. He chose the Rebels during a visit to Oxford this weekend.
Rush is the No. 133 overall prospect and No. 17 defensive lineman in the 2024 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He is also the No. 5 player in Mississippi.
“I talk to coach (Lane) Kiffin here and there and we’ve been able to build a good relationship,” Rush told On3’s Jeremy Johnson about Ole Miss on March 17.
Ole Miss’ 2024 recruiting class now contains five players. They are Rush, Chandler (Ariz.) Basha four-star quarterback Demond Williams Jr., Picayune (Miss.) Picayune Memorial three-star running back Chris Davis, Winona (Miss.) Winona Secondary School three-star linebacker Fred Clark and Jackson (Miss.) Callaway three-star wide receiver Jeremy Scott.
The Rebels’ group ranks No. 17 in the 2024 On3 Industry Team Recruiting Rankings. It is also No. 10 in the SEC.

Rush is Ole Miss’ fourth pledge this month. He is also the second since March 23, the day that Davis chose head coach Lane Kiffin and his staff.
In January, Rush seemed excited about the hiring of new defensive coordinator Pete Golding.
“That’s a great pick up,” Rush told Zach Berry of OM Spirit on Jan. 15. “Me and coach Pete talked last year so I know what he can bring to the table.”
Ole Miss is looking to continue recruiting success from last cycle
In the 2023 cycle, Ole Miss landed just one high school defensive lineman recruit. It was Moss Point (Miss.) four-star Jamarious Brown.

Brown was one of the top players in Mississippi last year. Kiffin is once again hoping to keep the state’s top players home, as the Rebels currently hold commitments from four of Mississippi’s top 25 players.
Ole Miss’ 2023 group ranked No. 25 in the 2023 On3 Industry Team Recruiting Rankings. It also finished No. 11 in the SEC.
Kiffin and his staff landed two players in that class who ranked in the top-100 of the 2023 On3 Industry Ranking. One was Raleigh (Miss.) Five-Star Plus+ linebacker Suntarine Perkins.
Rush has an On3 NIL Valuation of $68K. The On3 NIL Valuation is the industry’s leading index that sets high school and college athletes’ projected annual value (PAV). The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time.
