4-star DL Jeffery Rush sets Ole Miss visit
Pascagoula (Miss.) four-star defensive lineman Jeffery Rush is visiting Ole Miss this weekend. He announced the news over Twitter on Friday.
Rush is the No. 133 overall prospect and No. 17 defensive lineman in the 2024 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He is also the No. 5 player in Mississippi.
The 6-foot-1, 265-pound defender holds 11 offers. According to the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine, Ole Miss is leading for his commitment at 44.6%.
“I feel like I’m just enjoying the moment right now,” Rush told On3’s Jeremy Johnson on March 17. “I’m really thinking about it. Around the summer is when I plan on announcing my commitment to a school.”
“I talk to coach (Lane) Kiffin here and there and we’ve been able to build a good relationship,” he added about the Rebels.
Ole Miss’ 2024 recruiting class currently contains four players. They are Chandler (Ariz.) Basha four-star quarterback Demond Williams Jr., Winona (Miss.) Winona Secondary School three-star linebacker Fred Clark and Jackson (Miss.) Callaway three-star wide receiver Jeremy Scott.

Rush is interested in programs across the country
Rush also broke down other programs of interest with Johnson:
Auburn: “Their new staff over there is changing a lot. I feel like Auburn has a bright future. I can definitely see them being on the rise over the next few seasons.”
Colorado. “I’m not going to lie: Coach Prime is Coach Prime. I feel like me and the defensive line coach are building a great relationship. The culture over there is changing. Deion (Sanders) is making the program so much better than it was and he just got there. I feel like that could be nice.”

Mississippi State: “They’re working on me too. I talk to them a lot. They’ve been talking about how I fit in their defense and stuff like that if I were to come there.”
Texas: “I like Texas. I like how coach (Bo) Davis coaches the defensive line. Coach (Steve Sarkisian) is really cool dude. He’s a cool guy. Texas is a nice school. It’s the history there as well.”
Tulane: “I feel like they’re on the rise right now. They could be one of the best programs in the country in a couple of years. They’ve shown me a lot of love. I love the defensive line coach and the defensive coordinator. I like how they run things.”
Miami is also a program under consideration by the four-star. He spoke about the Hurricanes with Stephen Wagner of CaneSport.
“Miami is a legendary school and I was just happy to have an offer from them,” Rush said on Feb. 19. “…I am highly interested in the Canes. It’s just the history the program has and the NFL legends that came from that school that really attracts me.”
