Ole Miss wide receiver Jonathan Mingo is moving on and looking to make a name for himself in the NFL. However, as he moves on, he will always look back fondly on his time at Ole Miss.

While speaking to the media at his Pro Day, Mingo shared his favorite memories from his time at Ole Miss.

“You know, the Grove, every fun game I’ve played in, win and losses,” Jonathan Mingo said. “Just playing in the Grove. Just going through the Grove, seeing all the fans, playing in the Vaught. All the crazy games.”

That makes sense. After all, the Grove is one of the most iconic venues in all of college football. However, when specifying a favorite game, he had an interesting choice.

“But I still think my favorite game is when Elijah [Moore] pissed on the field. That game was fun. It’s not even that he did that little thing on the field. It was just watching Matt [Corral] take over the offense. You know, John Rhys [Plumlee] had the offense back then,” Mingo said.

“So, he took over the offense, Rich Rod calling plays, and Matt was like I’m not calling them plays. And he drove us all the way down the field. Braylon [Sanders] out here. He threw a big ball to Braylon for like 50 yards on 3rd and 20…so that’s probably one of my favorite memories. Just going to the Sugar Bowl too.”

Jonathan Mingo emphasized that Corral took over play calling from Rodriguez, whether he liked it or not.

“He called the whole drive. So, like Rich Rod was like, ‘Call this play.’ Matt was like, ‘No.’ Coach was like Elijah is not running the route and Matt was like, ‘Don’t listen to him. I’m calling this right here.’ So, that was probably my favorite memory.”

Jonathan Mingo on his pre-draft training

Recently, Jonathan Mingo explained how he’s preparing for the NFL Draft.

“I went to EXOs in Arizona. I know AJ [Brown]DK [Metcalf], and Elijah [Moore] went out there, and they had pretty good results,” said Mingo. “And they liked the staff out there, so I thought it was the right decision for me.”

Mingo knows that he can’t control where he goes. So, he wants to do his best to take advantage of whatever opportunity he gets.

“A lot of teams. But I don’t really dial into which team is talking to me the most because, at the end of the day, I can’t decide where I go. It’s not like college. So, I’ve been taking a lot of visits. I got a lot of visits after this, and I be doing a lot of Zooms. So, I’m just talking to each team, showing them I know football and what I can bring to the table.”
