Katy Perry responds to Lane Kiffin, LSU trolling continues
As Lane Kiffin brings Ole Miss into the national spotlight, he’s inviting a musical superstar back to Oxford. Today, he laid down an invite to Ole Miss fan and California Girls singer, Katy Perry.
“Thanks KP!” tweeted Kiffin. “Come to the Sip anytime with it.”
Moreover, Kiffin’s tweet was in response to Perry pledging her allegiance to the Lane Train. In one fell swoop, Perry also put her support behind the Heisman campaign of the Rebels’ star quarterback, Matt Corral.
The interactions stemmed from a video where Kiffin stated he needs all Ole Miss fans back for the Rebels’ first home game, this Saturday against Austin Peay. To sweeten the deal, Kiffin even mentioned they’ll pay for corn dogs.
Katy Perry vs. LSU
Of course, Perry famously held up a corn dog in picking against LSU in an appearance on College GameDay live from Oxford in 2014. Additionally, she even threw some into the crowd.
“Did you say LSU or LS-Pew?” Perry said during her appearance in Oxford. “We heard about you,” she shouted at Tigers fans everywhere. “Heard you were hungry!”

Moreover, Perry even took things to the next level in 2015, when she appeared on the jumbotron to pump up the crowd in a game against LSU.
That day, Perry’s mind-games helped the Rebels defeat LSU, 38-17. With Kiffin’s trolls of Tigers coach Ed Orgeron, the dynamic duo may add some extra juice to their matchup October 23rd.
Furthermore, Perry’s legendary appearance on GameDay led to a 23-17 victory for Ole Miss over Alabama. If Kiffin’s squad can keep playing to their potential, perhaps the superstar singer will get another chance to pick the Rebels.
While it would be awesome to see Katy Perry back in Oxford this weekend, the potential buzz her return would generate for the Rebels’ game against LSU next month may be even sweeter.
