Another day, another Lane Kiffin jab at the College Football Playoff selection committee. And this time, the Ole Miss head coach used the results of the SEC Championship Game to try and bolster the case for his team to make the CFP as an at-large.

While the path for the Rebels is seemingly closed, as they’re ranked behind Alabama and Miami and have no seeming path to jump them for an at-large spot. It’s a result that Kiffin has taken hard, apparently, lashing out at the committee on social media repeatedly. He was at it again after Georgia bested Texas, 22-19, in overtime to win the SEC.

Kiffin was quick to point out that only two teams have defeated Georgia since 2020: Alabama and his team, earlier this year, 28-10.

However, despite Kiffin’s prostrations on social media, it’s unlikely the Rebels climb into the CFP field. At 9-3 with losses at Florida, at LSU and against Kentucky, the committee has made it clear it views at least two potential at-large teams as better.

And with really only one at-large spot still left in play, as of Saturday evening, Kiffin’s squad is unlikely to get it.

Even though they did manage to do something most teams have failed at in beating the Bulldogs.

Kiffin sent another shot at the committee and other leagues earlier in the week

Kiffin didn’t hold back when revealing his opinion on the other major conferences across the country, adding that the SEC should be held to a higher standard than others on the gridiron.

“I think that this is what you’re probably going to have to get used to as fans, teams having multiple losses in this conference,” Kiffin said, via Michael Katz on X. “… It’s why it’s just different, it’s just totally different, and these comparisons of other conferences and the ACC and the Big 12.

“You might as well be in different leagues. Not conferences, different leagues. Like, here’s the NFL, here’s the SEC, here’s those few Big Ten teams and then here’s everybody else.”
