Las Vegas releases Ole Miss win total odds at 7.5 for upcoming season
The Ole Miss Rebels’ 10-3 record to end last season set Lane Kiffin and his squad up with some high expectations for 2022. Las Vegas oddsmakers do seem to have factored in the loss of quarterback Matt Corral, however, with their latest 2022 win totals. Vegas has the Rebels’ win total set at 7.5 games in Kiffin’s third year in the driver’s seat.
Although he scored a major win by landing former USC quarterback Jaxson Dart from the transfer portal, Lane Kiffin still has a quarterback battle on his hands. It’s still unclear who will start and who will sit between Dart and Luke Altmyer.
Mississippi had the No. 22 passing offense in 2021, putting up 274 passing yards per game, and the No. 11 rushing offense, averaging 217 yards per game. After losing to Alabama in Week Four, Ole Miss put up 52 points versus Arkansas to win by one. They got over a loss to Auburn to finish the season on a four-game streak before losing to Baylor in the Sugar Bowl.
The Rebels will need to cover Vegas’ projected win total to make it back into a New Year’s Six game this season. They knock out all four non-conference games at the start of the season, playing Troy, Central Arkansas, Georgia Tech and Tulsa before the SEC slate hits. After the non-conference games, Ole Miss hosts Kentucky and travels to Vanderbilt, setting the team up for a very doable 6-0 start.
