The Ole Miss Rebels are the 2022 College World Series champions. After a 4-2 victory over Oklahoma, the Rebels completed the sweep of the CWS Final. With a title now in hand, their social media department was quick on the draw.

The Rebels got it done and clinched the title with a late comeback. They were down 2-1 heading into the bottom of the eighth. A Jacob Gonzalez single tied the game at 2-2. From there, a pair of errant pitches earned them a two run lead that Ole Miss wouldn’t relinquish in the ninth.

After a 14-16 conference season, the Rebels snuck into the NCAA Tournament. They scraped into the NCAA Tournament but went 10-1 to earn their way to Omaha and to the program’s first national championship.

WATCH: Ole Miss dogpiles after winning College World Series

Ole Miss was the final team to get the call for the NCAA Tournament on Selection Sunday. Ole Miss is the final team remaining at the College World Series and is national champions for the first time in program history.

Only two games were required against Oklahoma in the championship series, having to come back on Sunday afternoon. While the bats may not have been as electric as Saturday, Ole Miss was able to win thanks to elite base running and miscommunication from the Sooners’ battery.

As soon as the final out was recorded, the party was on in Omaha. Well, probably in Oxford as well.

Players stormed onto the field from the Ole Miss dugout and near the pitching mound. The dogpile was on, as a season’s worth of work was completed with the ultimate goal. Stringed confetti flew from the sky as well, making it a true national championship celebration.
