LSU transfer safety Sage Ryan visiting Ole Miss on Friday
LSU Tigers transfer safety Sage Ryan is deciding where he’ll spend the 2025 season after entering the NCAA Transfer Portal. Today, he is visiting Ole Miss, according to On3’s Pete Nakos.
Ryan is a redshirt junior who has been a multi-year contributor for the Tigers. He played in a ton of games at multiple positions for the program. He’ll be coveted for that versatility, and it’s evident the Rebels have their eyes on him.
“After prayers and conversations with my family, I have decided to enter my name in the transfer portal with 1 season remaining of eligibility,” Ryan wrote, originally announcing his intention to move on with his collegiate career.
Ryan is coming off his most productive season yet. In 2024, Ryan tallied 42 tackles, 2.0 tackles for a loss, a sack, three forced fumbles, an interception and six passes defended.
In total, he has played in 43 career games with 21 starts. He thanked the LSU staff on his way out for the opportunity provided.
“I would also like to thank the LSU Coaching Staff for allowing a homegrown student-athlete to chase his goals and dreams,” Ryan wrote. “I want to also extend my gratitude to the LSU Support Staff and Media Team.

“To my Brothers/Teammates, over the past three seasons, we have built unbreakable bonds that will last forever. I appreciate you guys for pushing me to the max and making me better every day.”
Ryan exits LSU with plenty of production. His career totals are 113 tackles, 6.5 tackles for a loss, a sack, five forced fumbles, an interception and 14 passes defended. Quite a bit of quality production in one of college football’s toughest conferences.
The talented defensive back also thanked his family and the LSU faithful on his way out.
“To my parents, mentors, and friends, I am truly grateful and blessed to have amazing people pour into me. …” Ryan wrote. “Lastly, I want to thank Tiger Nation for making this special place feel like my home since my arrival.”
As Ryan moves on with his college career, perhaps Ole Miss will be the destination. We’ll see what kind of impact a trip to Oxford makes on the defensive back.
