Maryland transfer OT Terez Davis commits to Ole Miss

Former Maryland offensive tackle Terez Davis has committed to Ole Miss out of the NCAA transfer portal, per On3’s Hayes Fawcett. He originally entered the transfer portal on April 16.
Davis played in 10 of Maryland’s 12 games this past season at left tackle. Terrapins head coach Luke Locksley spoke highly of Davis’ abilities during his true freshman season.
“For me to have a true freshman play left tackle is a testament to the work that that guy has done, but also the job our coaches have done to get them prepared to play. And I don’t care who it’s against. Terez is going to be a great player for us,” Locksley said at the time.
Before college, Davis was a three-star recruit according to the On3 Industry Rankings, which is a proprietary algorithm that compiles ratings and rankings from all four primary recruiting media services. He was the No. 1,383 overall player in the 2024 recruiting class. Davis was also the No. 98 player in his position.
Davis sent a message to Maryland fans when he announced his decision to enter the NCAA transfer portal. He thanked the fans, his teammates and coaches for their support during his short time on campus.

“I’ve made lifelong friendships, memories and learned valuable lessons from this leadership. After a lot of prayers, I’ve made the decision to enter my name in the NCAA Transfer portal next week,” Davis wrote in a post on X. “This decision was not made lightly but I believe it is the best step for my future as a student-athlete. I’m excited for what’s next and looking forward to the opportunities ahead.”
He is the second transfer commit that the Rebels landed early on Saturday. Former South Alabama defensive back Ricky Fletcher committed to head coach Lane Kiffin and the Rebels. Over the past two seasons, Fletcher has accumulated 38 total tackles for the Jaguars. Additionally, he amassed 11 passes defensed during the 2024 season, an impressive number, for sure.
