USC took in a ton of transfers on the offensive side of the ball when Lincoln Riley took over as head coach. However, there were players who did transfer out of the program, like Michael Trigg. The big tight end transferred out of USC and ended up at Ole Miss, playing for Lane Kiffin.

While speaking to the media after the game, Michael Trigg explained how he feels he’s acclimating into a new offense.

“I’m happy but I feel like I’ve got more to do,” Michael Trigg said. “Got to get better a lot.”

“I feel like learning my plays a little bit better, run blocking, even the three touchdowns I had I feel like I should have had four. When I got tackled on the one, I felt like I didn’t do my best. I feel like I’ve got more to give.”

Michael Trigg was a four-star recruit in the Class of 2021. In Ole Miss’ opening game against Troy, he led the team in receiving. He followed that up with three touchdown catches against Central Arkansas.

Lane Kiffin sees a larger role for Michael Trigg

Ole Miss head coach Lane Kiffin is excited for Michael Trigg’s future, saying he sees an expanded role for Trigg in the team’s offense.

“Well at first, you see he’s bigger,” Lane Kiffin said. “He’s played bigger than that in scrimmages. And so, you know, there’s some inconsistency there because he’s a young player. He needs to play more consistent, because you can see the big play potential and I do like that he seemed — you know, his last touchdown, he kind of played harder and with more urgency in the second half there.”
