Nebraska transfer EDGE Princewill Umanmielen commits to Ole Miss
Nebraska transfer EDGE Princewill Umanmielen has committed to Ole Miss, per On3’s Hayes Fawcett. His brother, Princely, spent one season with the Rebels in 2024.
Princewill Umanmielen spent two years at Nebraska, arriving as a notable recruiting win for Matt Rhule, before entering the transfer portal Dec. 9 when the window opened. This past season, he totaled 13 tackles, three tackles for loss and a half-sack. That came after an impressive freshman season in Lincoln when he had 22 tackles, five tackles for loss and a sack while playing on the defensive line.
Umanmielen played high school football at Manor (TX), where he was a four-star prospect. He was the No. 227 overall recruit from the 2023 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.
After entering the portal, Umanmielen drew plenty of interest, notably from the SEC. Teams such as Auburn, Florida State, LSU, Texas A&M and Texas Tech stood out early in the process.

Ultimately, he chose Ole Miss, and he’s now going to play in a scheme in which his brother flourished. Princely Umanmielen was a key part of Pete Golding’s defense in 2024 after transferring from Florida, setting new career-highs with 13 tackles for loss and 10.5 sacks in his lone season with the program.
Princewill Umanmielen joins an impressive group of transfers coming into Ole Miss. The Rebels have landed some notable names through the early part of the cycle, including former Arkansas offensive lineman Patrick Kutas – one of the top interior linemen to hit the open market after the window opened. Another former Razorback, tight end Luke Hasz, committed to Ole Miss Dec. 14.
Ole Miss is looking for another 10-win season under Lane Kiffin’s watch when the Rebels head to the Gator Bowl on Jan. 2 to take on Duke. That would mark the third 10-win season in four years, and Kiffin is continuing to build the program through the transfer portal.
