Ole Miss landed its latest win on the recruiting trail Thursday when Coppell (Texas) four-star cornerback Braxton Myers committed to the Rebels. Myers’ decision elevated Ole Miss’ 2023 recruiting class to No. 21 in the 2023 On3 Consensus Team Recruiting Rankings. The Rebels’ group, which also ranks No. 9 in the SEC, rose three spots from No. 24.

“I realized I wanted to be in a college town more than a city,” Myers told On3’s Sam Spiegelman. “I wanted to have a college experience and it’s big for my family because they’re all in Mississippi. My dad is from Mississippi. Oxford is a great place to be, one of the best college football towns in America. Seeing the Grove itself, the view of the city on game day is amazing. People come out to support Ole Miss football and every game is gonna be filled with fans. The energy itself in Oxford is such a football town.”

Myers, a former USC pledge, is the No. 215 overall prospect and No. 25 cornerback in the 2023 cycle, according to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He is also the No. 39 player in Texas.

Myers is currently the third-highest-ranked prospect in Ole Miss’ class behind Raleigh (Miss.) four-star linebacker Suntarine Perkins and Ridgeland (Miss.) four-star wide receiver Ayden Williams. Perkins and Williams are the two top players from Mississippi.

The Rebels’ class got massive boosts this summer from Williams, Chattanooga (Tenn.) Baylor School four-star interior offensive lineman Brycen Sanders, Glen Burnie (Md.) Good Counsel four-star athlete Neeo Avery and Moss Point (Miss.) four-star defensive lineman Jamarious Brown. All four players are ranked in the top 300 of the On3 Consensus.

Other prospects committed to Ole Miss include Nashville (Tenn.) Montgomery Bell Academy four-star quarterback Marcel Reed, Cordele (Ga.) Crisp County four-star athlete Ahmad Brown, Dallas Parish Episcopal School three-star safety Daniel Demery, Kernersville (N.C.) East Forsyth three-star tight end Jayvontay Conner and Fort Valley (Ga.) Peach County three-star linebacker Skielar Mann. The Rebels also have a pledge from Summitt (Miss.) Southwest Mississippi Community College four-star offensive tackle Izavion Miller, who is the No. 4 overall junior college player and No. 1 offensive tackle from that level.
