Ole Miss fans celebrated Saturday’s win against Georgia by storming the field and took down one of the goalposts in the process. Now a group of Rebels faithful are carrying the goalpost through the city of Oxford.

Video captured the fans making their way down the streets with pieces of the goalpost in hand. According to the latest update, they have made it to the Square.

Another update showed the goalpost had made it to the courthouse. Fans leaned it up against the building and people stopped to take pictures and marvel at the scene.

The win marked the first time that Ole Miss has beaten Georgia since the 2016 season and only the 13th time in history. The Rebels scored more than half of their points off of field goals as kicker Caden Davis was a perfect 5-of-5 on the afternoon.

The defense was also big in the win, forcing two turnovers and holding the Bulldogs to only 233 yards of offense. Quarterback Jaxson Dart finished with 199 yards passing and a touchdown with one interception as well as 50 yards rushing.

Saturday’s win is quite the resume addition for the Rebels, as well. Georgia entered Saturday as the No. 3-ranked team in the first College Football Playoff rankings, and the only blemish on the Bulldogs’ resume is a loss at Alabama. However, the committee cited UGA’s win over Texas as part of the decision to rank them at No. 3.

In the projected 12-team bracket after the first CFP rankings release, Ole Miss came in as the fourth team out of the field at No. 16. However, it wouldn’t be surprising to see them rise up in next week’s rankings as a result of this big win.
