Ole Miss football team offered NIL deal with Blue Delta Jeans

The Ole Miss football team will be rocking plenty of denim this fall.
Mississippi-based Blue Delta Jeans has offered every player on the Ole Miss roster a Name, Image and Likeness deal. The news was first reported by Forbes Sports Money.
For players who accept the offer, each will receiver a pair of custom jeans. Each player will be able to design the jeans, which have a retail value of $450, in exchange for minimum one social media poster per month from Sept. 2021 through Jan. 2022.
Rebels players will also have an opportunity to cash in on the deal. Each time an athlete’s unique code is used, they receive $100. For every 20 times the code is redeemed, the student-athletes receives an additional pair of jeans.
Ole Miss fans will be able to purchase their favorite players design, too. Per Forbes Sports Money, as of Monday, 44 Ole Miss players were measured by the company and 33 signed contracts with Blue Delta jeans. Another 11 are waiting to sign with the company until they have consulted their family or advisors.
This is not the first group NIL deal offered to a football team. Less than a week into the new era of college athletics, a South Florida businessman offered Miami’s scholarship football players $500 monthly contracts to promote his well-known American Top Team mixed martial arts training academies on social media.

About Blue Delta Jeans
Along with being based in the state, Blue Delta Jeans’ lone retail is located in Oxford, Mississippi. The ability to provide an opportunity for athletes in the town while using it as a marketing tool was a large part of the deal.
A byproduct is the ability for the company to show just how custom-made the pair of jeans are. Blue Delta creates a custom pattern for each athlete or client, using 16 measurements from the waist down. From there, the customer creates their own jean design, choosing from 50 fabrics and 18 threat colors, along with selecting their own cut to create a one-of-a-kind jean.
Founded in 2010, the company specializes in bespoke raw-denim jeans sourced and produced in the American South.
“We take care of our customers and treat them like family through the design process. We make sure each customer is happy with their finished jeans, and we guarantee fit,” Blue Delta co-founder Nick Weaver said to Forbes. “Our brand is on the rise, just like Ole Miss football, and we are excited by the possibilities of working with the University’s student-athletes.”
