Ole Miss has revealed its uniforms for Saturday’s matchup against Austin Peay. The Rebels will wear special, patriotic helmets in the game. Saturday marks the 20th anniversary of the tragic events that happened on September 11th, 2001. Ole Miss football tweeted a video revealing the uniforms on Thursday night. In addition to the helmet, Ole Miss will wear its blue jersey along with gray pants.

Ole Miss is set to host Austin Peay at 7:30 PM ET on Saturday night. When Ole Miss does so, their uniforms will hold an important message across the country.

Lane Kiffin should return to the sidelines on Saturday

Ole Miss head coach Lane Kiffin was sidelined for the Rebels’ season opening game against Louisville due to a positive test for COVID-19. After the game against Louisville, Kiffin joked that maybe he should coach from home permanently. Ole Miss won the season opener 43-24. Kiffin said that he was able to immediately dive into Austin Peay game film.

“They played like that without me on the road, I’m good with it. I’ll just stay here,” Kiffin joked after Monday’s game. “I’m already here; I don’t have to travel back. I can already watch Austin Peay film right now.”

When Ole Miss trots out in their special uniforms this weekend, Kiffin should be back with the team in person. Earlier this week, Kiffin said that he is fully healthy and anticipates returning to the Ole Miss sideline on Saturday.

“I will be back for the game, so excited about that,” Kiffin said. “I have no symptoms, I’m great now. That was strange obviously not being there (on Monday night). Winning and not being in the locker room and stuff was strange. But everything happens for a reason, and I think it was good to watch it on TV instead of them panning to me after every score. For them to put the credit on the players and assistant coaches and Coach Lebby was awesome to see, because they deserve it.”

Ole Miss is one of many teams throughout the country that will be paying respects to the 20th anniversary of the 9-11 attacks with special uniforms on Saturday.
