Ole Miss HC Lane Kiffin visits 2025 5-star WR Caleb Cunningham
Coaches are out on the recruiting trail in January, and the staff at Ole Miss is no exception. Rebels head coach Lane Kiffin and recruiting coordinator Kelvin Bolden visited Ackerman (Miss.) Choctaw County 2025 five-star wide receiver Caleb Cunningham on Thursday.
Cunningham spoke with On3 in October about his relationship with Kiffin, Bolden and assistants Pat Carter and Heath Dedeaux.
“I hear from coach Kiffin, [former Ole Miss assistant] coach Derrick Nix, coach Pat Carter, coach Heath Dedeaux and coach Kelvin Bolden,” Cunningham told On3. “Some of them talk to me about every day. They are recruiting me pretty hard and making me feel special.”
Cunningham also said he likes the way the staff at Ole Miss recruits him.
“What stands out most to me as a recruit is how they check on me every day. They make me feel special and I love their saying; Come to the Sip.”
Cunningham is the nation’s No. 11 overall prospect and No. 2 wide receiver in the 2025 cycle according to the On3 Industry Ranking — a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He is also the top recruit in Mississippi.

Cunningham recaps Auburn visit
The 6-foot-3, 185-pound Cunningham visited Auburn this past weekend and recapped his trip with On3.
“Auburn definitely moved up my list,” Cunningham told On3. “What stood out about Auburn is that I learned a lot about their program. They have great people on that staff. It’s all about brotherhood and family there. They showed great hospitality. The coaches definitely love me they were telling me how I can play a big role in their offense and that they need players like me in their offense.”
He spent time with Hugh Freeze, Marcus Davis and former Ole Miss assistant, now Tigers offensive coordinator Derrick Nix.
“The message from coach Freeze was to find the best environment. He feels like the best environment for me could be Auburn. He definitely wants me in his offense.
“The message from coach Davis was he wants me bad. I am one of his top guys in the 2025 class and he is going to coach me hard, but he’s going to love me harder. The message from my guy coach Nix was that he can use me in his offense in a whole lot of different ways.”
