Ole Miss had its best season yet under Lane Kiffin in 2023, winning 11 games, including a Peach Bowl victory over Penn State.

ESPN analyst Tim Tebow believes the Rebels can be even better in 2024 and potentially compete for an SEC Championship. Tebow was asked on SportsCenter Saturday morning which team he is most intrigued by. Ole Miss is at the top of the list for him.

“If I’m going to say one that’s really intriguing this year, I’m going to go with Ole Miss,” Tim Tebow said. “I think the Lane Train, he’s got the most talent that he’s ever had before.”

The Rebels return starting quarterback Jaxson Dart, who threw for 3,364 yards last season. Dart accounted for 31 touchdowns with only five interceptions.

Ole Miss and Lane Kiffin also went to the transfer portal to bring in plenty of playmakers to put around their talented QB.

“Jaxson Dart has experience. You have a plethora of receivers – all the people that have transferred in,” Tebow said. “You have a defense that is getting better, but it’s the most talent that they’ve ever had at defense. And they’re experienced.”

The Rebels got a taste of winning big in 2023. With the College Football Playoff expanding, if Ole Miss can have a similar year or better in 2024, the Rebels should be in the College Football Playoff for the first time every this year.

“They’ve had a ton of big games. You have to learn to win. You have to learn to win when you’re predicted to win. And that hasn’t always been the case for Ole Miss,” Tebow said. “But now they’ve had a year where they were predicted to win most of the time, so do they know how to handle success? I think that they’re going to handle success pretty well. They’ve got a hard schedule, but they’ve got a lot of experience. I’m intrigued to see what’s going to happen with all of that talent.”

Tim Tebow also intrigued by Texas A&M

Tim Tebow also shared another SEC team he is intrigued by heading into the 2024 season in the Texas A&M Aggies.

Former Duke head coach Mike Elko is entering his first season running the Texas A&M program. The Aggies have talent and should be able to improve on last year’s 7-6 record.

“Texas A&M, just because they’re intriguing with a new coaching staff. Still a lot of talent. I don’t think that they will be there in Year 1, but they still have a lot of players,” Tebow said. “Collin Klein as the OC, I love what he has done.”
