Ole Miss lands transfer commitment from Indiana defensive back Louis Moore
Former Indiana defensive back Louis Moore will transfer to play for Ole Miss in 2024, he announced Monday via Twitter. This will be the second transfer for Moore as he originally began his career at Navarro Community College in Corsicana, Texas.
Moore transferred to player for the Hoosiers in 2022 after spending the first two years at the JUCO level. He played both receiver and safety at Navarro before settling on solely defense at Indiana.
The safety was a key player for the Hoosiers defense this past season with 83 tackles, three forced fumbles, three interceptions and one pass defended. Louis Moore ranks as the No. 141 overall player and No. 11 safety according to On3’s Transfer Portal Rankings.
As a recruit, Moore was a member of the 2020 class and played for Poteet High School in Mesquite, Texas. He committed to play for Indiana over offers from Central Michigan, South Alabama, Louisiana-Monroe and others.
Moore will join a Rebels defense that ranked seventh in the SEC this past season with 220.0 passing yards allowed per game. They finished with a 10-2 record and will hope to improve with his addition to the secondary.
