Ole Miss LB Reginald Hughes officially enters the transfer portal

Ole Miss linebacker Reginald Hughes has officially entered the transfer portal.

Hughes announced his intentions to transfer from Oxford back at the end of September. That came after he dabbled in the portal for a few days back in the spring. Now, with the window open again in the first week of December, he is definitively on the move again.

Hughes started his collegiate career at the JUCO level at Northeast Mississippi CC. After two seasons there, he has spent the past two with the Rebels. In 2022, he made a dozen appearances on defense and special teams with six tackles on the year. He then posted three tackles this fall in a handful of appearances before making his decision to leave.

After being unranked out of high school, Hughes worked himself into being a top prospect coming out of junior college. He was a three-star prospect by the time it was said and done as a Top-30 recruit, the No. 4 LB, and a Top-10 player out of Mississippi. He then picked Ole Miss over the likes of Mississippi State and Arkansas State.
