The Ole Miss Rebels are in a battle against Texas Tech and the TaxAct Texas bowl. The Rebels are currently down 10-7, and now will be down a defensive starter for the remainder of the game. Ole Miss senior linebacker Troy Brown has been disqualified for the rest of the game following a targeting call on Red Raiders quarterback Tyler Shough.

On a first-and-10 early in the second quarter, Shough took off on a scramble. As the Texas Tech quarterback made it toward the line to gain, he began his slide. Unfortunately, that is when Brown came in and delivered a shot to the back of Shough’s head and neck area using primarily his shoulder. After a quick review, the officials confirmed the targeting, removing Brown from the game.

Ole Miss will keep the juice flowing with one of their favorite uniform combinations this season, the powder blue jersey and powder blue helmet with the school name in bright red.

The Rebels will look to finish the season off as strong as they started it and pick up win number nine on the year. Despite the season not going the way many in the program and fans expected, Ole Miss has put together another impressive year under head coach Lane Kiffin. The Rebels did much of their damage on the ground this season behind a dominant rushing attack led by Quinshon Judkins and Zach Evans. And in Wednesday’s showdown against Texas Tech, expect the running back duo to run all over the Red Raiders’ defense while looking smooth in their powder blue unis.
