WATCH: Ole Miss shares new recruiting video showcasing transfer stars
Few teams have embraced the NCAA Transfer Portal as fully as Ole Miss has, and they released a new recruiting video highlighting why players choose them. The video shows off most of their incoming transfers for the 2022 season, showing a version of them getting off a plane and stepping onto a team bus as the campus celebrates their arrival.
Ole Miss boasts a transfer class featuring one five-star recruit, six four-star recruits and seven three-star prospects — according to the On3 Consensus Player Rankings.
Ole Miss releases new transfer video
The video does an excellent job highlighting their incoming transfers while showing the atmosphere in “The ‘Sip” that is so important to the program. The Rebels hope the video shows what it’s like to join Ole Miss and walk onto the field as a member of the Rebels, much like the other talents shown experienced.
Ole Miss released the video via their social media with the caption “Who’s Next?” alongside their hashtag “#TransferToTheSip.” The incoming players featured include former USC-stars Jaxson Dart and Michael Trigg, Zach Evans from TCU, Ladarius Tennison and Jeremiah Pegues from Auburn, and Malik Heath and Jared Ivey.

Ole Miss lands big-time QB recruit
While head coach Lane Kiffin and the Ole Miss marketing team works on the transfer portal’s potential, Kiffin has kept busy in traditional recruiting efforts as well. On Monday the Rebels secured a commitment from four-star quarterback Marcel Reed.
The 6-foot-2, 180 pound quarterback is the No. 356 overall prospect in the On3 Consensus rankings for the class of 2023. He is considered the No. 19 quarterback in the class. He chose the Rebels over notable offers from Vanderbilt, Tennessee, Georgia, Florida, Alabama, Texas A&M, Arkansas, Louisville, Baylor, Miami, Kentucky, Virginia Tech, TCU and Cincinnati among others.
“The relationships,” Reed said in an exclusive interview with OMSpirit following his verbal commitment on Monday. “I kept contact with coach (Charlie) Weis, Jr., coach (Dane) Stevens and coach (Seth) Doege. …just about every week we would talk on a Tuesday or Wednesday FaceTime call. That is the strongest thing we have and I felt like it was best for me to go ahead and announce it the Monday after the visit.”
