According to On3’s Pete Nakos, Ole Miss offensive lineman Cam East has entered the NCAA transfer portal. East just wrapped up his third season with the program, committing to the Rebels out of high school. He will look to continue his career elsewhere though, deciding to hit the open market.

Playing time certainly will be one of East’s biggest factors when looking for a new school. He never stepped on the field in an Ole Miss uniform, even in garbage time. East was considered an offensive tackle coming out of high school.

Ole Miss considered him a big recruiting win at the time as well. East was previously committed to Mississippi State but decided to flip over to the Rebels. Recruiting battles between those two can be vicious and Lane Kiffin‘s staff won out on this occasion.

East played high school football at New Orleans (LA) St. Augustine, where he was a three-star prospect. He was the No. 549 overall recruit in the 2022 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.

A lot of untapped potential has now hit the portal at a premium position. East should have plenty of suitors interested in acquiring his services.
