Ole Miss starting offensive lineman Micah Pettus provided a big update on his future in Oxford Monday morning. Pettus announced that he is entering the NCAA Transfer Portal and also considering entering the 2025 NFL Draft.

Either way, it seems as though Micah Pettus will not be returning to play for Ole Miss in 2025. The junior started 11 of 12 games for Ole Miss this season. He also started nine games for the Rebels in 2023, before suffering a season-ending injury.

Micah Pettus made the announcement with a post on Twitter on Monday. He explained his decision and thought process while also discussing what’s next for him.

“Dear Rebel Nation, First, I must thank God for his endless blessings. I must also thank my family for their love and support throughout my life’s journey. I would not not be where I am today without my dad, mom, and brother,” the post reads.

“To my teammates, coaches, professors, and the Oxford community, thank you for everything. This has been the best four years of my life. I am thankful for my time as an Ole Miss Rebel. The memories made and the friendships formed in this community will last a lifetime. This place will always hold a special place in my heart.

“In my time in Oxford, the football program has reached new heights and I have had a blast playing football with my brothers. More importantly, I have grown and developed as a person since my arrival in Oxford. This community has supported my academic progress and enhanced my entrepreneurial spirit.

“Since I was a child, I’ve dreamed of playing in the NFL and have followed a path to achieve that goal. With that said, I am currently evaluating my options of entering the 2025 NFL Draft, while also entering my name into the transfer portal as a graduate transfer. I am proud to be leaving Oxford with a degree from the University of Mississippi, but it is true that ‘one never graduates from Ole Miss.'”

Micah Pettus signed with Ole Miss as a three-star recruit in the class of 2021, per the On3 Industry rankings.

After redshirting in 2021, Pettus went on to start 29 games over the next three seasons.
