Ole Miss QB commit Demond Williams Jr. ready to live out childhood dream in Elite 11 Finals
Chandler (Ariz.) Basha four-star Ole Miss quarterback commit Demond Williams Jr. always had aspiration of competing the Elite 11 Finals since he first started throwing a football as a little kid.
This week he’ll be able to live out that childhood dream as he competes in the finals in California against the nation’s top quarterbacks.
“I’m from Arizona so I know Spencer Rattler and I’ve trained with him,” Williams Jr. told On3. “Being around him, I saw him compete in the Elite 11. Then I have watched the Elite 11 shows with Bryce Young, Trevor Lawrence, Tua Tagovailoa and all the other great quarterbacks, so I know it is a big thing. I saw what they went through and I wanted to follow in their footsteps.”
Williams Jr. earned his invite to the finals after competing in the regional held in his future college home.
Once he got the call, Williams Jr. said that there was excitement but that quickly shifted to thinking about competing against all of the other quarterbacks who had also earned invites.
“Me being one of the top quarterbacks selected to go to this event gives me a chance to prove myself and show what I can do with the best,” said Williams Jr., the No. 16 quarterback in the 2024 class. “It will be a mix of fun and go out and handle business. I want to prove to myself that I am what I think I am and I definitely think I have a chance to win it. I’m excited about the opportunity.”

Williams is locked in with Ole Miss
Williams Jr. kicked off Ole Miss’ 2024 recruiting class with his pledge to the Rebels on Dec. 30. They’ve since added eight more commitments and have the No. 21 class in the country.
While some schools still show interest, Williams said that a majority have backed off. He still hears from Texas A&M and his home-state schools of Arizona and Arizona State but said he doesn’t plan on taking official visits to any other schools but Ole Miss.
He’ll head to Oxford July and again during the season for the Rebels’ home game against LSU. Until then he’s focused on football and taking online classes so he can enroll in January
“I’m still feeling really good about Ole Miss. and the communication is strong both ways,” Williams said. “It’s exciting to know what I am coming into as a program and how I get to compete. I like the offense, it fits my skillset perfectly and I am locked in with Ole Miss.”
