Lane Kiffin has the Ole Miss Rebels program to one of the highest levels it’s ever been at, winning 10 games in the regular season and appearing in a Sugar Bowl. He’s been adamant about getting the student body involved and on Tuesday, gave them a unique way to do so.

The Ole Miss Twitter account sent out a tweet calling for students to become walk-on football players. There is going to be a meeting regarding it on Thursday at 5:30 at Fed-Ex Academic Support Center. Students wanting to now be coached by Kiffin, not just watch from the sidelines, have their chance.

There are a few requirements if you want to walk onto the program. First, you must be a full-time undergraduate student at Ole Miss that’s currently enrolled. None of the classes you have are allowed to be before 11 am either, presumably to attend practice. Next, you have to be in good academic standing with the university and to prove it, must show unofficial transcripts from your time at Ole Miss.

Ole Miss Rebels hosted Tennessee transfer commit

The walk-on program is not the only way Kiffin is looking to add to his talent pool in Oxford. He has been using the transfer portal just as well as anybody in the country and had the opportunity to host another big-time target recently.

Former Wyoming wide receiver Isaiah Neyor committed to Tennessee on Jan. 8 but has continued taking visits across the country. According to On3’s Gerry Hamilton, he visited Ole Miss from Jan. 12-14 and spent Tuesday night with Texas head coach Steve Sarkisian as part of an in-home visit ahead of a trip to Austin, Texas on Wednesday.

Running back Zach Evans has already committed from TCU, while quarterback Kedon Slovis is down to Ole Miss and Oklahoma. If Kiffin is able to bring in all of his main targets, the Rebels’ offense could look scarier in the SEC than it did this past season.
