Ole Miss rises into top 25 of On3 Consensus Team Recruiting Rankings
After a slow start to the 2023 recruiting cycle, the momentum is beginning to build for Ole Miss.
The Rebels entered the month of July with just four commitments, but over the past six weeks, Lane Kiffin and Co. have bolstered their class in a big way. One of their biggest commitments came this afternoon, when four-star Ridgeland (Miss.) wide receiver Ayden Williams committed to the Rebels over LSU and Tennessee.
Not only does he give Kiffin a talented playmaker and his first receiver commit in this cycle, but he also pushes the Rebels into the top 25 of the On3 Consensus Team Recruiting Rankings. Ole Miss jumped nine spots, leapfrogging Iowa, TCU, Cincinnati, and North Carolina, Michigan, Texas A&M and others into the No. 20 spot.
Williams is the No. 118 overall prospect in the 2023 class, according to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He ranks as the country’s No. 18 wide receiver and the No. 2 senior in the state of Mississippi.

He is Ole Miss’ first commitment this month, but joins a host of prospects to verbally pledge in the last few weeks. Four-star Glen Burnie (Md.) ATH Neeo Avery, Kernersville (N.C.) tight end Jayvontay Conner and junior college offensive tackle Izavion Miller all committed on July 31, while four-star Moss Point (Miss.) defensive lineman Jamarious Brown gave his verbal on July 29.
Williams is also the seventh blue-chip commitment and fourth prospect from the state of Mississippi to commit to Ole Miss.
