One of Ole Miss‘ top additions from the transfer portal prior to the 2024 season is expected to be on the move again, according to On3’s Pete Nakos. Running back Rashad Amos plans to enter the NCAA transfer portal, Nakos reports.

Amos has seen very limited action for the Rebels this season, tallying just nine carries for 75 yards.

Prior to transferring to Ole Miss, Rashad Amos had a breakout season at Miami (Ohio) in 2023. He ran for 1,075 yards and 13 touchdowns during that campaign. That came after he spent the first two seasons of his career at South Carolina.

As a recruit, Amos was ranked as a three-star prospect and the No. 1,027 overall recruit in the nation in the 2020 class. He was also ranked as the No. 88 running back in the class and the No. 106 overall player from the state of Georgia in that cycle, hailing from Tyrone (GA) Sandy Creek.

Two Mississippi State players to transfer

Ole Miss isn’t the only program in the state likely to see some departures via the transfer portal, as Mississippi State also has a pair of players expected to enter.

Mississippi State Bulldogs wide receiver Creed Whittemore plans to enter the NCAA Transfer Portal, according Hayes Fawcett of On3.

Creed Whittemore played high school football at F. W. Buchholz (FL), where he was a four-star prospect. He was the No. 305 overall recruit in the 2023 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.

Moreover, Whittemore spent two seasons in Starkville. Over that time, he’s amassed 15 receptions for 167 receiving yards and two touchdowns. Additionally, he’s rushed five times for 101 yards and two touchdowns, as well.

In addition, Mississippi State wide receiver JJ Harrell plans to enter the NCAA Transfer Portal, according to On3’s Hayes Fawcett.

Harrell did not log any stats during his true freshman season in Starkville. He will have four years of eligibility remaining.
