Penn State vs. Ole Miss Preview - Initial Scouting Report on The Rebels

Ole Miss tight end Caden Prieskorn announced Sunday that he’ll be returning to Oxford for another season with the Rebels via a post on Twitter.

Prieskorn transferred to Ole Miss this offseason after spending the first three years of his collegiate career at Memphis. He joined the Tigers as a walk-on then broke out in his junior season with 48 receptions for 602 yards and seven touchdowns, named a semifinalist for the Mackey Award.

Following his breakout season for Memphis he joined the Rebels ahead of the 2023 season, entering the year as a Preseason All-SEC Third Team selection and landing a spot on the Mackey Award Preseason Watch List. He ended the 2023 regular season with 20 receptions, 313 yards, and two scores which earned him Second-Team All-SEC honors and a selection on the 2024 Reese’s Senior Bowl Watch List.

Despite being a prospect for the 2024 NFL Draft, Prieskorn returns to Ole Miss for his second season with the team and the final season of his eligibility.

He recorded at least one catch in seven of the Rebels’ games this season, finishing the year strong with touchdown receptions in the final two games of the regular season. Prieskorn will look to keep the streak going when Ole Miss faces Penn State in the Peach Bowl on December 30.

The 2024 NFL Draft will be held in Detroit, Michigan, with the first round on Thursday, April 25, the second and third rounds on Friday, April 26, and the fourth through seventh rounds on Saturday, April 27.

Players will have the opportunity to solidify their draft stock at the 2024 NFL Scouting Combine, to be held in Indianapolis, Indiana from February 26 through March 4.

The three-day event will be broadcasted throughout the weekend on ESPN and NFL Network.

The deadline to declare for the 2024 NFL Draft is on January 15. NFL teams will receive a full list of eligible players in the class on January 19.
