Tre Harris shares how learning Ole Miss playbook has gone
There are plenty of changes college football players must adapt to when they enter the transfer portal and switch programs. Yes, they must get used to a new city and teammates, but they also have to learn the playbook quickly in order to be ready to get on the field. For new Ole Miss receiver Tre Harris, the process has been a smooth one.
Harris, who starred at Louisiana Tech before transferring to Ole Miss, recently opened up about what it has been like learning the Rebels playbook and how comfortable he feels with it.
“It wasn’t too hard for me,” Tre Harris said. “I feel like coming from an air raid offense back at Louisiana Tech, a lot of the same concepts, they pop up in different playbooks and stuff like that.”
Harris put up impressive number during his time with the Bulldogs, including during the 2022 season.
He was a first-team All-Conference USA selection last year after catching 65 passes for 935 yards and 10 scores. Harris was a big-play machine, averaging better than 14 yards per reception. The Lafayette, Louisiana native is hoping to continue to produce at a high level in the SEC.
“Coming in, it wasn’t too hard for me to learn the concepts and learn the playbook, to be honest with you,” Harris said.
While this will be a step up in competition for Harris, he has produced against Power 5 programs in the past. That includes last season against Clemson when he caught four passes for 56 yards and a touchdown.

Tre Harris says he is fitting in perfectly at Ole Miss
In addition to doing well with learning the playbook, Harris has also adjusted well in other aspects at Ole Miss.
He recently said that all of the Rebels’ additions, including himself, have fit right into their roles in Oxford.
Harris discussed his arrival and acclimation to the Ole Miss’ program during a press conference on Thursday. As far as him, he said that it has been a perfect move for him onto his new roster and offense.
“So far I feel like I’m fitting in perfectly,” Harris said.
He then went on to add that that’s the case for all 24 of Ole Miss’ transfers. They’ve all started to mesh with the returners from last fall in a way that has him very excited to get the season going.
“(It’s) not even just myself. I feel like all of the guys that transferred over? Everybody is starting to mesh together, everybody’s starting to have better camaraderie with each other,” said Harris. “Everybody’s starting to see the bigger picture and everybody’s starting to come together for the season.”
