Ole Miss has already landed commitments from two of the top Magnolia State prospects in the 2025 cycle. According to the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine (RPM), the Rebels are trending to add another to the fold.

Hattiesburg Oak Grove four-star defensive lineman Andrew Maddox has accrued over 15 Power Four offers. His recruitment has had an SEC flavor thus far, with the Rebels and Auburn leading the way.

At the beginning of March, Ole Miss recruiting insider Zach Berry logged a pick in the On3 RPM in favor of the in-state program landing Maddox. Auburn insider Cole Pinkston previously logged a pick in favor of the Tigers, but opted to flip that prediction to Ole Miss on Friday.

Andrew Maddox is very aware of what Oxford, Miss., and Ole Miss has to offer. His brother, A.J. Maddox, signed with the Rebels in December and will suit up for Lane Kiffin in the fall. But, more than this, his family is well-acquainted with defensive coordinator Pete Golding,” Berry wrote upon logging his pick this spring.

Maddox has been back to Oxford multiple times this year and continues to feel like a priority to Kiffin, Golding and Co. He updated his recruitment with On3 Director of Recruiting Chad Simmons back in March and had high praise for the local SEC program.

“They are developing players and they won 11 games last year. Me and Coach Pete, we have a connection. He recruited me when he was at Alabama. When he moved to Ole Miss, that brought me closer to him,” Maddox said.

“My brother is going there, so that’s what also drew me closer to Ole Miss. (Defensive line) coach (Randall) Joyner is like a second father to me. He’s taken me under his wing and shown me around, shown me things and we are building a relationship. I am getting to know him and I feel safe around him.”

Maddox has also visited LSU, Auburn, Mississippi State, Florida and Miami since March. The 6-foot-3, 270-pounder is the No. 126 overall prospect and No. 10 DL in the 2025 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He’s also the No. 5 player in Mississippi.

Ole Miss Class Breakdown

Ole Miss added five commitments in April and now has the No. 18 class in the nation, according to the On3 Industry Team Recruiting Rankings. The Rebels inked the No. 19 class last cycle.

Horn Lake (Miss.) Lake Cormorant four-star linebacker Jarcoby Hopson is a top-200 prospect and is one of the latest to commit to the Rebels, as he did so on April 22. He became the third Mississippian to enter the fold, joining Quitman five-star running back Akylin Dear and Gautier native Dillon Alfred, a four-star wide receiver.

Dear is the No. 30 prospect and No. 2 burner in the cycle. He announced his commitment on March 30 and is a centerpiece pledge for Lane Kiffin and his staff in Oxford.

“It was a difficult [decision] because there was a lot of places to go play at,” Dear told On3 upon his commitment. “But I’m from Mississippi, ya know? It’s great to be staying home. Ain’t anything better than the ‘Sip.”

West Jordan (Utah) Corner Canyon four-star wide receiver Jerome Myles pledged on April 28 and is the No. 1 player in the Beehive State this cycle. Opelousas (La.) three-star EDGE Corey Amos, Daphne (Ala.) three-star EDGE Talib Graham and Buford (Ga.) three-star tight end Hayden Bradley round out the class.
