Ole Miss trolls Tulane with Green Wave-sad husky crossover

Ole Miss gave the Tulane Green Wave logo a makeover borne out of a favorite of the college football internet. And the result might have some staying power of its own online.
After heading to New Orleans and knocking off Tulane, 37-20, Ole Miss shared a victory post with the Green Wave, holding a white flag and with the sad-looking husky face from a bygone UConn logo superimposed. Not only did they have the wave waving a white flag in surrender, but they effectively did the mascot logo version of a “sad Jordan” meme.
The text of the tweet with the image was simple, too: Three white flag emojis and a hashtag, #HottyToddy.
One of the better social media troll jobs of the weekend, and a solid ranked win on the road for the Rebels to boot. Not a bad Saturday for the Ole Miss football universe.
Ole Miss and head coach Lane Kiffin took umbrage with some pregame trash talk
Tulane wanted a chance to prove what they can do against SEC competition, and they got it on Saturday against Ole Miss.
The Green Wave didn’t back down, and neither did Lane Kiffin. Ahead of the showdown, Kiffin decided to bark back at Tulane.
Check out the video below, as Kiffin responded to some words from the Green Wave prior to kickoff in New Orleans.

Alas, Kiffin has never been one to back down from a challenge, and that’s exactly what Tulane is laying down. It’s going to be a chippy one in New Orleans, but that might only serve to motivate the Rebels even more.
Tulane is dealing with some serious injuries on offense, so a shootout may not be the best thing for the Green Wave. That’s exactly what Kiffin would prefer though, so we’ll see if Ole Miss pours it on now, relying on Jaxson Dart to get the job done against a formidable opponent.
Tulane played without starting quarterback Michael Pratt vs. Ole Miss
Tulane quarterback Michael Pratt was officially out for the Green Wave’s home game vs. Ole Miss shortly before kick off.
ESPN’s Pete Thamel reported Saturday afternoon just ahead of the Tulane-Ole Miss game that Pratt was in street clothes and would be out for the contest. Here was that news, which Thamel tweeted out:
“Michael Pratt is not with the Tulane quarterbacks warming up pregame, which means he’s not playing against Ole Miss today.”
