Ole Miss WR Jarnorris Hopson to enter the NCAA Transfer Portal

Ole Miss WR Jarnorris Hopson will enter his name into the NCAA Transfer Portal, On3 has learned. That comes per reporting by On3’s Pete Nakos on Friday.
“Ole Miss wide receiver Jarnorris Hopson has entered the transfer portal, @On3sports has learned,” tweeted Nakos this afternoon.
This comes after one season spent with the Rebels for Hopson. He has now played one season apiece at three different colleges across Mississippi as a walk-on with Mississippi State in 2022, at Northwest Mississippi Community College in 2023, and then being a redshirt sophomore at Ole Miss in 2024.
Hopson appeared in one game while with the pair of programs in the SEC. He played in the penultimate game for the Bulldogs in ’22 but did not play at all for the Rebels in ’24. He did have nine outings with Northwest Mississippi Community College in ’23 as he would post 35 receptions for 443 yards and four touchdowns.
Hopson, a native of Tunica, Mississippi, played his high school football at Horn Lake. He was a Top-750 overall recruit as a three-star in the 2022 cycle. He also rated as a Top-115 wide receiver in the class and a Top-25 player out of the state. That’s according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.

Then, coming out of his year at the JUCO level, Hopson was the No. 57 overall prospect per On3’s 2024 Industry Top JUCO Recruits as the No. 11 WR and a Top-20 name out of Mississippi. With that, he committed to come to The ‘Sip in February of 2024.
Now, Hopson is the latest portal transaction during the spring cycle for Ole Miss. He’s one of three departures as CB Chris Graves and RB Jordon Simmons also entered their names as well. However, over this week, the Rebels have added QB Trinidad Chambliss (Ferris State – Division 11) and CB Tavoy Feagin (Clemson) too.
