Quinshon Judkins has seen some sides of Lane Kiffin that many in the media never will.

While many love the Ole Miss leader for his eccentric personality, Judkins explained there’s more than meets the eye when it comes to Kiffin behind closed doors during an appearance at SEC Media Days in Nashville on SEC Network.

“I would say, as the persona you see as Lane Kiffin on TV, he probably just doesn’t talk that much,” said Judkins, asked what Kiffin is like in the locker room. “Like on TV, he probably has certain conversations, he’ll say his kind of funny jokes, but in-person he’s more serious.”

Nevertheless, Kiffin convinced Judkins to come to Ole Miss, and maybe his infamous sitting in the rain photo while recruiting the star running back did the trick. Of course, Judkins had to touch on that as well.

“That was awesome,” Judkins said. “That game was like 40 degrees and the coldest by temperature game in high school, and he was there and so many people was bothering him, so he went to the other side of the stadium, and just sat there in the rain. So it was a good experience to have him there, yeah.”

The multiple sides of Lane Kiffin. Perhaps Quinshon Judkins could write a book on it one day. It would be awesome to hear more.

Regardless, the dynamic duo is hoping to take Ole Miss to new heights in 2023, and their potential is through the roof, even in a loaded SEC.

More on Quinshon Judkins, Ole Miss Rebels

One thing is abundantly clear about Quinshon Judkins, he exceeded expectations as a freshman. During an appearance on The Paul Finebaum Show, On3’s Charles Powerexplained why that happened.

“Quinshon Judkins was phenomenal. I think he was the breakout star of the SEC last year, at least on offense. He was our Offensive True Freshman of the Year last year. And you think about, going into the season, everybody was talking about Zach Evans, the TCU transfer and former five-star. Quinshon Judkins outplayed Zach Evans last year. It seemed like he had 150 yards every week,” Power said.

“(He’s) a guy who was not as heralded but he was a top target for Lane Kiffin. They got him out of Alabama and he was phenomenal last year. A guy that forces a ton of missed tackles. He’s not going to blow you away from a size or speed perspective. But very instinctive, maximizes yardage, and really kept Ole Miss’ offense churning last year in games that they needed to win.”
