Ole Miss can take a leap now. NIL will determine where the Rebels land.

The Ole Miss Rebels men’s baseball team just etched their names into college baseball history after winning the 2022 College World Series. After leading the program to their first-ever College World Series championship, many around campus are hailing Rebels skipper Mike Bianco as a legend. And among the many is Ole Miss head football coach Lane Kiffin.

After the school’s official athletics photography page tweeted out a picture calling Bianco a legend, Kiffin retweeted it, endorsing the claim. You can see the Ole Miss head football coach’s post and comment in the image below.

Sunday’s win completed a sweep of the Sooners in the finals after the Rebels delivered a dominant 10-3 victory in Game 1 on Saturday. Despite not being a Regional host, Ole Miss lost just one game throughout the entire NCAA Tournament on its way to claiming the first College World Series title in program history.

Bianco has been at the helm for over two decades, with this season being just his second College World Series appearance. He said at times in the past, not breaking through has been a major disappointment. However, this year and this team were one of the best he’s ever had and capped it off with a championship.

Mike Bianco gives take on going from last team in to CWS champion

Ole Miss baseball just completed one of the more improbable championship runs you’ll ever see in sports. A month ago the Rebels were on the outside looking in at the NCAA Tournament field. Then, they went down to Hoover, AL and did just enough to be one of the Last Four In to the tourney. Perhaps the final team added. Once in the fold, the Rebels were a runaway train, obviously going on to win the whole shebang.

Head coach Mike Bianco coached his guys to the title and can still barely believe it. Following Ole Miss’ Game 2 win to clinch the title, he was interviewed and asked about his team’s epic run from final team in to final team standing. You can watch the interview on the tweet below.
