Over the summer, Wingo spoke with On3’s Chad Simmons about what he is looking for in a school.
“You don’t want to go somewhere where you don’t fit in, just because (of) like the name,” Wingo told Simmons. “I’ll for sure look at games of schools that are recruiting me and that I’m thinking about and just see like how they would use like I said, a bigger receiver that’s kind of fast and to see how they use him. Because obviously if they use him like that, it’ll probably most likely be how they use me. But you know, it’s different with everybody, but you know, just a good idea of it.”
Wingo has been on a number of campuses this fall for game days, including Notre Dame, Penn State, Arkansas, Michigan and LSU. He told BlueWhiteIllustrated that he plans to visit Clemson next week (Nov. 19) before seeing Missouri (Nov. 25) and Alabama (Nov. 26) to close out the season.
Ryan Wingo Scouting Summary
“An electric playmaker who picks up yards in a hurry. Ran a 10.64 100m, 21.46 200m and a 50.72 400m in 2022. The ability to defeat the angle with the ball in his hands is among the best in the 2024 cycle early on. Can take the top off of defenses with ease but is not just a straight line player. His ability to make defenders miss in tight spaces and finish runs is rare for someone with his long speed. Has a chance to be an impact player at the next level. Older brother is former Arkansas running back Ronnie Wingo.”
