Snoop Conner was not going to make a fancy juke move. The Ole Miss running back hit the truck stick on a Louisville defender end route to a 11-yard touchdown run early in the fourth quarter Monday

The score marked the junior’s second rushing touchdown of the night. Ole Miss’ starting running back, Conner has rushed for 60 yards on eight carries through three quarters.

The Ole Miss offense has broke out Monday night and put its potential on full display. Quarterback Matt Corral has thrown for 300 yards and added a rushing touchdown.

“We are going to do what we got to do. (We) do the little things right. We could be one of the best in the nation,” Conner recently said of the Ole Miss offense. “Yup. It’s hard to stop the offense. (Jeff) Lebby knows what he’s doing. Kiffin is an offensive minded guy. So it can be pretty special.”

But it has been the Rebels defense that has been surprising. Behind the leadership of second-year defensive coordinator D.J. Durkin, the Ole Miss defense looks revamped.

Conner is not even the starting running back for Ole Miss. Tailback Jerion Ealy has 1,000-yard potential. He was a big-play guy as a freshman back in 2019. But Conner and Henry Parrish have proven thoughtout Monday night that they are capable to be the featured back, too.

Lane Kiffin throws halftime barb at Big Ten officials over targeting calls

Ole Miss head coach Lane Kiffin threw a barb at Big Ten officials over targeting calls at halftime of the Rebels’ game against Louisville.

Kiffin, who wasn’t on the sideline after testing positive for COVID-19, called out the Big Ten officials after four targeting calls in the first half, including two against Ole Miss.

“We just need this Big Ten officiating crew to teach us how to tackle because obviously, we don’t know how,” Lane Kiffin told ESPN’s Molly McGrath when asked about his thoughts on the first half.

Two key Ole Miss linebackers were ejected in the first half of its game against Lousiville. Mark Robinson has been ejected from Monday night’s game following a targeting call. The senior led with his helmet when going to tackle Louisville running back Hassan Hall. And Ole Miss linebacker Lakia Henry was ejected in the second quarter for a targeting call against Louisville quarterback Malik Cunningham.
