Southern Miss transfer OL Gerquan Scott commits to Ole Miss
Southern Miss offensive lineman Gerquan Scott has committed to Ole Miss, via the NCAA Transfer Portal.
Scott spent five seasons with the Golden Eagles, tallying 45 appearances and 40 starts. The 6-foot-4, 330-pound lineman started all 12 games for Southern Miss this year. He was also recruited by Auburn in the transfer portal.
He ranked as the No. 1,764 overall player in the 2019 recruiting class, while checking in as the No. 162 offensive tackle in the class. Scott also ranked as the No. 67 overall player in the state of Alabama, hailing from Mobile (AL) WP Davidson.
Scott posted a passionate message to his social media along with his commitment announcement.
“I wanted to express my sincere appreciation to each and every school for your efforts in recruiting me,” Scott wrote. After careful consideration, I believe I’ve made the best decision for my future and my family.
“The coaches at Ole Miss have made a significant impression on me, and I can see how well I fit into the program. I am excited to pursue my dreams and give my all in my last year of college football. Please know that I am fully committed to the University of Mississippi.”
