Report: Tre Harris injured, does not return to sideline for Ole Miss
Ole Miss star Tre Harris has been hot through the first two weeks, but injury may derail him for a bit.
According to John Darnell of the Ole Miss radio network, Harris did not return to the bench after halftime. It’s unclear what Harris might have injured and when, but his absence will be a significant blow to the Ole Miss offense.
According to The Rebel Walk, though, Harris was one on the sideline sporting a brace on his knee.
Harris set an Ole Miss record with four receiving touchdowns in the team’s season-opening 73-7 win against Mercer.
He was also having a good game against Tulane in a hard-fought contest on Saturday prior to his exit. Harris had logged two catches for 55 yards and a touchdown in the contest.
At the time of this writing, Tulane led Ole Miss 17-10 with 10:24 to play in the third quarter.
Ole Miss offense sluggish in first half
Ole Miss had a rough go in the first quarter against Tulane, even before Tre Harris was injured. The Rebels had 106 total yards of offense in the early going, but had -3 rushing yards through the first 15 minutes.

Coach Lane Kiffin gave credit to the Green Wave’s defense for containing Quinshon Judkins and the Ole Miss running game following a strong first series, which saw Jaxson Dart find Tre Harris for a 31-yard touchdown.
“They’re doing a good job mixing up pressures, bringing a lot of different looks at us,” Kiffin told ESPN2’s Tom Luginbill. “We’re struggling to run the ball so really good first series and then we’ve stalled since then.”
Ole Miss didn’t waste any time getting on the board early vs. Tulane as Dart completed a pass to Harris to put the Rebels on top 7-0. That lead was short-lived, though, after Makhi Hughes punched in a two-yard touchdown to tie things up at 7-7. A 44-yard field goal from Valentino Ambrosio gave the Green Wave a 10-0 lead.
