Tre Harris injury: Ole Miss WR leaves game vs. Florida after big hit, heads to locker room
Ole Miss wide receiver Tre Harris had to leave Saturday’s game against Florida after taking a big hit in the second quarter. He went to catch a pass from Jaxson Dart for a first down but appeared to grab his groin area – an injury he previously dealt with this season – and limped to the locker room.
Saturday marked Harris’ first start for Ole Miss since Week 7 against LSU when he suffered the injury. He hauled in a 43-yard touchdown catch earlier in the game, and the second-quarter play was his second target of the day before he had to depart.
ABC’s Molly McGrath reported the Ole Miss training staff heavily taped Harris’ hip and groin area in his return from the injury. That was the side he grabbed after taking the hit. He was later ruled out in the third quarter and returned to the sideline in street clothes.
“Tre Harris immediately clutched the right side of his hip-groin area. That was the same side where he was injured against LSU,” McGrath said on the broadcast. “That right leg-hip area was heavily wrapped. You have to think he re-aggravated that injury.”

Harris is a key piece of the Ole Miss offense this season. Even despite his three-game absence, he still led the Rebels with 957 receiving yards to go with six touchdowns as Dart’s top target entering Saturday’s game. The 43-yard touchdown catch put him over 1,000 yards on the season.
Lane Kiffin spoke about what Harris’ return means for the Ole Miss offense, especially after a huge victory over Georgia. The unit is getting closer to full strength just in time for the final two games of the year and, if things stay on track, the College Football Playoff.
“Tre’s been great,” Kiffin said on the SEC coaches teleconference on Wednesday. “Been awesome having him back out there. To be fully loaded, whole team and offense has been great. Great feeling to have that back. The nation’s toughest receiver in the country. So, it’s been great to have him back out there.”
