Tre Harris says he is fitting in perfectly at Ole Miss
Ole Miss was one of the most active programs this offseason in the transfer portal. While that’s the case, Tre Harris says all of the Rebel’s additions, including himself, have fit right into their roles in Oxford.
Harris discussed his arrival and acclimation to Ole Miss’ program during a press conference on Thursday. As far as him, he said that it has been a perfect move for him onto his new roster and offense.
“So far I feel like I’m fitting in perfectly,” Harris said.
He then went on to add that that’s the case for all 24 of Ole Miss’ transfers. They’ve all started to mesh with the returners from last fall in a way that has him very excited to get the season going.
“(It’s) not even just myself. I feel like all of the guys that transferred over? Everybody is starting to mesh together, everybody’s starting to have better camaraderie with each other,” said Harris. “Everybody’s starting to see the bigger picture and everybody’s starting to come together for the season.”
Before arriving in Oxford, Harris spent the previous three seasons with Louisiana Tech. He became the Bulldog’s No. 1 receiver last season with 65 catches for 935 yards and 10 touchdowns. That brought his career totals up to 106 catches for over 1,500 receiving yards and 14 scores in Ruston.
He will now be one of the top targets for whoever wins Ole Miss’ quarterback competition coming into the season. Lane Kiffin won’t have to worry about how prepared he is, or any transfer is for that matter, though, based on what he had to say yesterday.
Harris shares feelings on Ole Miss’ quarterback battle
Lane Kiffin is still letting his quarterback competition play out. With just a few weeks until the season opener, nobody has been named the starter at Ole Miss. Everyone involved has commented and spoken on all three guys but, on Thursday, we got the latest new perspective on the battle.

WR Tre Harris gave his thoughts on the battle between Jaxon Dart, Walker Howard, and Spencer Sanders. He believes all three are battling it out right now and everyone brings something different to the table.
“I would definitely say so,” Harris said when asked if it’s a battle. “Each guy brings something different to the field. It’s going to be a battle until Day One whenever we’re playing against Mercer.“
As for comfortability with Harris, he is cool with any of Dart, Howard, or Sanders stepping onto the field against Mercer. It’s a general consensus between the Ole Miss wide receiver room that the Rebels feel like they are going to win games no matter what.
“So, each guy I am really comfortable with,” Harris said. “I feel like all of the receivers are comfortable with each guy. All I can say is each guy is making each other better. Especially every single day.”
