WATCH: Ole Miss celebrates CWS win with trophy
The Ole Miss Rebels clinched the 2022 College World Series championship after a 4-2 victory over Oklahoma this evening. The win was the conclusion of an improbable run by the Rebels in the postseason. It also was the product of an epic, bottom of the eighth comeback against the Sooners.
After all that, it was Mike Bianco’s team who earned the right to hoist the trophy in Omaha. They basked in that moment in front of the crowd filled with Ole Miss faithful.

The Rebels went 10-1 during their NCAA Tournament run. They swept in the Coral Gables Regional and in their Super Regional against Southern Miss. During their trip to Omaha, they went 5-1 to clinch the championship. After a stretch like that, they earned their right to reap the benefits of a title victory.
WATCH: Ole Miss baseball team takes victory lap following CWS title win
The Ole Miss Rebels’ baseball team officially won their first national crown in school history on Sunday evening after defeating the Oklahoma Sooners 4-2 in Game 2 of their best-of-three matchup in the CWS Final. There were a number of players that were crucial to their historic run, one of those being their team captain, Tim Elko. The Ole Miss slugger made some history of his own, becoming the first player in program history with two home runs in the College World Series. Following the win on Sunday, the Rebels’ players took a victory lap around Charles Schwab Field with his teammates to celebrate claiming college baseball’s most coveted prize with the Ole Miss fan base.
