WATCH: Ole Miss fan runs onto field, demolished by security at Vaught-Hemingway Stadium
A weird situation in Oxford just got a lot weirder.
With inclement weather approaching Vaught-Hemingway Stadium, the ESPN broadcast was forced to move multiple camera operators from their normal stations in Ole Miss’ game against Auburn on Saturday. Leaving only the hard cam available, ESPN had no choice but to leave the feed running as a fan ran onto the field.
He ran from one end zone to the other, and was absolutely leveled by a police officer on the scene. The broadcast didn’t get the hit, but commentator Dan Orlovsky’s reaction – and the Ole Miss sideline’s – said it all. The dude got obliterated.

Moments after the fan was apprehended, Ole Miss went on to score a go-ahead touchdown to put the Rebels back up two scores. The game has since gone into a weather delay with less than seven minutes remaining in regulation.

Auburn-Ole Miss game enters weather delay after Rebels go up two touchdowns in fourth quarter
No. 9 Ole Miss scored a 41-yard touchdown to take a two-score lead on Auburn just past midway through the fourth quarter, but the Rebels will have to wait to try to close out the win over the Tigers with a weather delay halting play with 6:26 left in the game.
The Rebels will be kicking off to the Tigers up 48-34 when play resumes following the delay.
ESPN had to pull its camera crews from lofted perches in the game just prior to the weather delay, which caused some weird camera angles for viewers. Fans present in Vaught-Hemingway Stadium were also treated to a field runner being tackled by stadium security just after the camera perches were abandoned.
Play will resume about 30 minutes after the inclement weather clears the area.
UPDATE: Auburn officials have indicated the estimated restart time will be at 3:10 p.m. CT.
