WATCH: Ole Miss LB Lakia Henry ejected for targeting
Ole Miss linebacker Lakia Henry was ejected for targeting against Louisville quarterback Malik Cunningham in the second quarter of the Rebels matchup with the Cardinals.
Henry’s ejection makes the fourth targeting call and ejection of the night.
Lakia Henry was the second linebacker to get ejected for Ole Miss on Monday. Senior linebacker Mark Robinson was ejected for targeting earlier in the game after leading with his helmet when going to tackle Louisville running back Hassan Hall.
Robinson transferred to Ole Miss as a walk-on running back from FCS member Southeast Missouri State prior to the 2020 season. After sitting out last season due to transfer requirements, he is using his final year of eligibility and playing linebacker for the Rebels.
Robinson and Lakia Henry were listed next to each other as potential starters for Monday’s game, Ole Miss will now turn to junior linebacker Ashanti Cistrunk for the remainder of the game.
Ole Miss has controlled the game through the first half, taking a 26-0 lead at halftime. The Rebels defense has limited Louisville’s offense to just 107 total yards through two quarters. Ole Miss’ offense has rolled, racking up over 300 yards through two quarters.

Ole Miss’s dominance through two quarters is especially impressive considering head coach Lane Kiffin is not on the sideline.
Last week, Kiffin tested positive for COVID-19 and is not available Monday. Kiffin is vaccinated and there were no other cases reported at Ole Miss at the time.
Henry is entering his third season at Ole Miss, and fifth season of college football, after two seasons of junior college. In 2020, Henry had 62 tackles, five tackles for loss, 2.5 sacks and two forced fumbles for Ole Miss.
Coming out of junior college, Lakia Henry was rated the top inside linebacker in junior college and committed to Ole Miss over the likes of Alabama, Arkansas, Auburn and Florida.
The Ole Miss Rebels lead Louisville 26-0 at halftime.
