West Virginia transfer WR Traylon Ray commits to Ole Miss
West Virginia transfer wide receiver Traylon Ray committed to Ole Miss, he announced via social media. he entered the transfer portal Dec. 22.
Ray is coming off a visit to Ole Miss on Wednesday, sources told OM Spirit’s Billy Embody. He spent two years at WVU, totaling 426 yards this past season before entering the portal.
During his time with the Mountaineers, Ray totaled 747 yards and seven touchdowns. He will have two years of eligibility remaining as he makes his way to Ole Miss as the latest transfer portal splash for Lane Kiffin.

Traylon Ray played high school football at Tallahassee (Fla.) North Florida Christian, where he was a four-star prospect. He was the No. 342 overall player from the 2023 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.

Ole Miss is once again active in the transfer portal so far this cycle and has another notable class. The Rebels’ group of newcomers currently ranks No. 3 in the On3 Team Transfer Portal Index, making their most notable splash at pass rusher. Former Nebraska EDGE Princewill Umanmielen is making his way in as the No. 13 overall player to hit the open market, according to the On3 Industry Transfer Rankings.
Umanmielen spent two years at Nebraska, arriving as a notable recruiting win for Matt Rhule, before entering the transfer portal Dec. 9 when the window opened. This past season, he totaled 13 tackles, three tackles for loss and a half-sack. That came after an impressive freshman season in Lincoln when he had 22 tackles, five tackles for loss and a sack while playing on the defensive line.
Umanmielen is now going to play in a scheme in which his brother flourished before declaring for the NFL Draft. Princely Umanmielen was a key part of Pete Golding’s defense in 2024 after transferring from Florida, setting new career-highs with 13 tackles for loss and 10.5 sacks in his lone season with the program.
