4-star DL Ashton Porter visiting Oregon this weekend

Cypress (Texas) Cy Ranch four-star defensive lineman Ashton Porter will visit Oregon this weekend, he announced on Thursday morning.

The 6-foot-2, 255-pound prospect is the No. 308 overall prospect and No. 41 defensive lineman in the 2023 cycle, according to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He is also the No. 54 player in Texas.

Porter recently announced a decision date and his top five schools, which include HoustonMichigan StateMississippi StateOregon and TCU.

He was previously committed to Northwestern before backing off his pledge to the Wildcats on Oct. 16. 

The Ducks currently have a quartet of defensive lineman committed to their 2023 class, including four-star Cypress (Texas) Cy Ranch’s Terrance Green, who plays for Porter’s rival high school. Oregon’s class ranks No. 11 nationally and No. 1 in the Pac-12 in the On3 Consensus Team Recruiting Rankings.
